Please enjoy this little video from the opening of my Sydney exhibition. It shares some great background, personal stories, and insights into my motivations and inspirations as an artist.
What you don’t see in this video is the more than 5 months of prep and reciting that had to go into getting to this stage. Not to mention the three years of story shaping. Reciting it out loud in the car on the way to the shops, in the shower before bed, in the morning when I woke. Such is the life of an introvert on the stage of the everyday.
I did get there in some form close to my intention. I had recited it so much that I felt I had no real nerves on the night… yet I could only sleep three hours the night before. I had my daughter in defense mode as we walked the busy streets, as my lack of sleep had me stumbling and swaying a little 😊 so pretty lucky that anything coherent come out of my mouth hahaha
Art from the heart is all you need to know. Art is an extension of artists who put their lives, emotions, and enjoyment into each piece. With the hopes to find, mirror, and connect with those of the viewer.
