About the RDS artist
My name is Danielle B Latta, and I am the founder and owner of Running Duck Studio (RDS), a mobile art gallery.
Do you love where you live so much that it inspires you in everyday life? I have lived in the outback, the coast, and the inner city. Now I reside on a small, lush green hillside near a quaint town just outside of Brisbane, Australia, and I love every minute of it.
A creative since I was able to pick up a pencil and brush, an artist since my first portrait sale in 1988.
Skills and styles of drawing have been shaped through my early work as a portraitist while acquiring my Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and my work at Walt Disney Animation Australia.
My portrait work gave me an eye for fine detail while my Disney work strengthened my drawing stroke.
The early years of working and living in the City of Sydney (and all that comes with the lifestyle) allowed me time to explore arts emotion, power, and ultimately a passion for my art.
Hi Danielle, I have absolutely fallen in love with your work so I’m creating a timeline of our family using your pictures. I already have ‘Dad and I’ and ‘Strong Connection’. Next I’d like to get: A man and woman together A woman with 2 little girls (however, I suspect my husband may contact you regarding this for a Mother’s Day gift too, so I don’t want to double up) Could you send me a photo of any pictures you have that might suit those stages of life? Alternatively, how much would you charge if I commissioned you to do one that looked more like us? Next I’ll be looking to incorporate our pets into the timeline.

ABOUT RDS ART
Crazy. Funny. Beautiful. For that light-hearted place in your soul just when you need it.
A lot of RDS artworks have an Australian theme present with lifestyle and animal drawings in black and white. The mostly black and white drawings have a whimsical, playful feel but most have a hint of cartoon from years drawing for Walt Disney. Special moments are captured from everyday life, country living, and wildlife.
A strong Australian theme can also be found in the outback country scenes of the back drops for the digital collages. In these digital works, the photos have been collected from my travels across Australia, in an exploration of its many faces. The pieces represent classic Australia; the humour, bush, wildlife, and rust. My “I love Australia” themed photography can be viewed at:
Ink and brush is serious fun, in its simplest form. Starting with only a basic idea (sometimes none) the free will of the ink as it splashes almost with its own agenda, shapes the artwork into something with a sense of freedom, emotion and movement
Black and white is king!
The RDS artworks have a whimsical playful feel and only a select number of artworks are available as limited edition prints.
Do you have no hanging space left?
Or just love to live in a creative day-to-day world, a select number of designs are available on pillowcases, T’Shirts, Tote bags, Cushion Covers, and lots more that can be found in the Functional art and apparel gallery.
